RAMALLAH, August 8, 2018 (WAFA) – A senior member of Fatah Central Committee denied on Tuesday reports that the Committee has accepted the resignation of Nasser al-Qudwa, a member of the committee and head of the Yasser Arafat Foundation.
Jibril Rjoub, member of Fatah Central Committee, told WAFA that Qudwa remains until today a member of the Central Committee and that discussion within the movement of the resignation was in its last phase so that he can return to his active duty in the ruling political party.
Reports claimed that President Mahmoud Abbas, chairman of Fatah movement, has accepted Qudwa’s resignation.
Qudwa, who had served as Palestine’s permanent representative to the United Nations until 2005, resigned in April from Fatah Central Committee in protest against the outcome of the Palestinian National Council meeting. His resignation has been pending since then.
