Weather: Temperature starts downward trend, cooler conditions expected

 

RAMALLAH, July 26, 2018 (WAFA) – A gradual drop in temperature is expected for Thursday and the weekend after record high temperatures that brought scolding heat to Palestine and the region.

However, the heat wave will continue on Thursday as temperature remains four degrees Celsius above the annual mean with southwesterly to northwesterly wind and low sea waves, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Temperature in Jerusalem is expected to reach a high of 32 degrees Celsius on Thursday and a low of 22 degrees. In Ramallah, temperature is expected to hit a high of 30 degrees and a low of 21. A high of 35 degrees and a low of 23 degrees are expected for the northern West Bank, while Jericho and the Dead Sea area are expected to have a high of 41 degrees and a low of 26. In the Gaza Strip and the coastal areas, temperature is expected to reach a high of 31 degrees Celsius and a low of 24 degrees.

A drop in temperature is expected for Friday but will remain slightly above the annual mean with partly cloudy skies.

Another drop in temperature is expected for Saturday and Sunday to become around its annual mean, said the PMD.
