RAMALLAH, July 19, 2018 (WAFA) – The demonstration at Khan al-Ahmar, east of Jerusalem, on Wednesday in solidarity with its residents who are facing expulsion and demolition of their homes, as well as statements by Hamas officials regarding an Egyptian plan for reconciliation with Fatah were highlighted on the front page of the Thursday issue of the three Palestinian dailies.
Thousands of people participated in the demonstration in solidarity with Khan al-Ahmar, said the dailies, which printed pictures of the protest rally.
A statement by the European Union’s foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on Khan al-Ahmar calling on Israel not to demolish the Palestinian community was highlighted on the front page of the dailies.
The dailies also published statements by Hamas official, Mousa Abu Marzouk, saying that the new Egyptian initiative for reconciliation with Fatah has elements for implementation in stages and a timeline.
Al-Quds said a Fatah delegation is expected to travel to Cairo to present its response to the Egyptian plan.
It also said Palestinians demonstrated in Gaza against the sanctions imposed on the besieged sea enclave.
The nationality law passed by the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, on Wednesday night and which Arab and other lawmakers denounced as racist was also highlighted on the front page of the dailies.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Palestine called on the United Nations to provide it with protection.
It said a report showed that Israel is not prepared to deal with a strong earthquake.
