JENIN, March 17, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Saturday raided the village of Barta’a, southwest of the city of Jenin, home of the alleged car ramming incident, according to local sources.
The sources told WAFA that a large Israeli army force raided and ransacked a number of homes belonging to relatives to Alaa Qabaha, 26, who was arrested after he was suspected of ramming his car on Friday into Israeli soldiers at an Israeli military checkpoint north of Jenin killing an officer and a soldier and injuring two others.
The soldiers broke down the doors to the homes they raided in Barta’a and ransacked them while questioning their dwellers. Among the homes was the one where photojournalist Baha Qabaha lives. The army seized his press card and raided the homes of three of his brothers as well as others.
The army had raided the village after the incident and detained Alaa’s 25-year-old brother.
In nearby village of Tura, soldiers raided the home of Ashraf Sami Qabaha, a former prisoner, searched it and detained him for a several hours for interrogation before releasing him.
