Gaza mother reunited with daughter in Ramallah for kidney transplant

RAMALLAH, March 1, 2018 (WAFA) – Salwa Attar, from Gaza, was reunited on Wednesday with her daughter Anaam at Ramallah hospital, where the 12-year-old daughter is awaiting a kidney transplant at Ramallah hospital.

The Israeli military government refused to grant Attar a permit to accompany her daughter out of Gaza to Ramallah for the surgery, forcing the daughter to leave Gaza on Tuesday without her mother.

However, following a public outcry and intensive intervention from the Palestinian Authority, Israel agreed to grant Attar a permit to leave Gaza to the West Bank to be with her daughter as she undergoes the long-awaited for kidney transplant at Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.

Emotions were high at the hospital when the mother and daughter came together. Ramallah governor Laila Ghannam and many other people were at the re.

Anaam has been in and out of hospitals in Gaza since birth getting kidney treatment. She has survived on only part of its kidney working as she was waiting for a donor.
