NABLUS, December 14, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers suppressed with force on Thursday a Palestinian protest north of Nablus, according to Mohammad Azem, mayor of the town of Sabastia.
He told WAFA that Palestinians marched from Sabastia to an Israeli army checkpoint near the illegal settlement of Shavi Shomron where soldiers stationed there showered the protesters with tear gas and rubber bullets.
The soldiers also shot tear gas at the town causing several to suffer from difficulty in breathing.
The Red Crescent reported treating 17 cases of people suffering from gas inhalation.
The march was part of activity planned to protest US decision recognizing Jerusalem as capital of Israel.
