RAMALLAH, December 14, 2017 (WAFA) – An urgent meeting for the Palestinian leadership will convene as soon as President Mahmoud Abbas returns from a trip abroad that took him to Jordan and Turkey, a senior Fatah official said on Thursday.
Jamal Muheisen, member of Fatah Central Committee, told Voice of Palestine radio that the meeting is expected to discuss Palestinian moves and strategy following US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Among the expected steps is to convene a special session for the Palestine Liberation Organization‘s (PLO) Central Council, the second highest legislative authority, and the issue of withdrawing Palestinian recognition of Israel will be on its agenda, he said.
