Israeli court extends detention of four minors from Silwan

JERUSALEM, December 12, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli court Tuesday extended the detention of four minors, who were detained on their way back from school amid rising tension in Jerusalem, until Wednesday.

According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center – Silwan, the four teens were identified as Ibrahim Hushiya, 15, Basel Dweik, 17, Jihad Qweider, 15, and Ahmad Khalifa, 14.

They were detained on their way back home from school in Ras al-Amoud in Silwan and were later transferred to an interrogation center for questioning.

The situation in Jerusalem remains on high alert after US President Donald Trump decided to reverse decades of US foreign policy and recognize Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel by approving the relocation of his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
