NABLUS, December 10, 2017 (WAFA) – At least six protesters were injured on Sunday evening when Israeli soldiers shot them with rubber-coated steel rounds, during clashes at Huwwara checkpoint, on the southern entrance to Nablus city in the West Bank, according to local sources.
Soldiers attacked the protesters with rubber-coated steel rounds and teargas, injuring six of them and causing others to suffocate as a result of teargas inhalation.
The protesters were rallying in protest of recent US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel. The rally later developed into clashes with the Israeli soldiers manning the checkpoint.
The Ministry of Health already announced that the number of people injured by Israeli forces since the beginning of unrest last week across the occupied Palestinian territories, in the aftermath of the US’ decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, rose to 1,250.
