Clashes break out at Ramallah’s northern borders

RAMALLAH, December 9, 2017 (WAFA) – Clashes broke out on Saturday at the northern border of Ramallah between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers following a march from the city center to protest a US decision recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Soldiers in the area fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the protesters. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Nationalist and Islamic forces in Ramallah called for a protest outside the American House in Ramallah on Monday and a rally at Ramallah city center on Tuesday after which participants will march to the northern contact point with the Israeli army, as well as a prayer and protest at Qalandia checkpoint to the south of Ramallah on Friday.

Meanwhile, clashes broke out between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers at Hawwara checkpoint, south of Nablus.
