Police use force to break up protest in East Jerusalem

 

JERUSALEM, December 9, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli horse mounting and foot police used force on Saturday to break up a protest by Palestinians in East Jerusalem who came out for the second day in row to protest a US decision declaring their occupied city as capital of Israel.

Witnesses said police ran into the crowd composed of local activists, students and people in general who marched peacefully in the main city street dispersing them and arresting two people.

Police tossed stun grenades into the crowd as mounting police ran over people, including journalists covering the event.

The witnesses said the police attacked people, mainly women, who were carrying Palestinian flags and snatched them from their hands.
