Israeli settlers throw stones at Palestinian homes in a Masafer Yatta community

HEBRON, October 28, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers threw stones on Saturday at homes of Palestinians in the Masafer Yatta Bedouin community of Umm al-Khair, south of Hebron, causing panic and damage, according to a local activist.

Rateb al-Jabour, coordinator of the anti-wall, anti-settlements popular committee in the south of Hebron, told WAFA that Israelis from the illegal settlement of Karmiel, built on land that belong to Umm al-Khair community, threw rocks and glass bottles at the Palestinian homes near the settlement fence that belong to the Hathalin family.

He said the attack caused panic among the residents, particularly children, as well as caused damage to homes.

Israeli soldiers, who are normally present in the area, did not intervene to stop the attack, said Jabour.

Instead, the soldiers and settlers demanded that the community removes a structure used as a gathering place for them and built 50 years ago because it is located near the settlement fence.
