GAZA, April 27, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists assaulted guards and employees at a solid waste disposal site in the town of Beit Anan, northwest of occupied Jerusalem, on Sunday, injuring several and seizing work equipment, according to local sources.
Witnesses said a group of colonists attacked the workers while they were on duty, inflicting serious injuries and fractures on some of them. The colonists also opened fire directly at a garbage collection vehicle and its crew, though no injuries from the gunfire were reported.
During the attack, the colonists forcibly seized an excavator used for waste management and a motorcycle belonging to one of the guards.
The Governorate of Jerusalem strongly condemned the terror attack. The incident, it said, is part of a broader campaign of settler violence aimed at deepening control over Palestinian land.
According to the governorate, the colonists recently established an outpost between the villages of Beit Anan and Al-Tira, where they have built a cow farm—believed to be part of a broader Judaization plan to expand settler dominance over the area.
The governorate held the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for this "heinous crime" and called on the international community, as well as human rights and humanitarian organizations, to urgently intervene and put an end to the continuous settler attacks against Palestinians.
