GAZA, April 27, 2025 (WAFA) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced on Sunday that its flour supplies in the Gaza Strip have been depleted.
The agency stated in a post on X, "Hunger is deepening in Gaza. People, including many children, are hoping to get some food to survive, during a warm meal distribution by charitable organizations. Yesterday WFP announced that it has fully depleted its food stocks in Gaza."
UNRWA further explained that currently, "nearly 3,000 UNRWA trucks of lifesaving aid are ready to enter Gaza," but Israel continues to block the entry of these aid shipments.
Gaza, home to approximately 2.4 million residents, is heavily reliant on humanitarian aid, which has come to a complete halt since March 2. This was when Israel closed the Karam Abu Salem, Zikim, and Beit Hanoun crossings, cutting off critical supplies to the region.
The organization emphasized the urgent need to lift the siege imposed by Israel on Gaza, which has been ongoing for years and continues to have devastating effects on the population.
