JENIN, October 6, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Friday raided and wreaked havoc into the Jenin-based family homes of two Palestinian workers employed within Israel, as part of Israel’s investigations into the killing of a settler last Wednesday in Kafr Qasim, inside Israel.
According to Israeli police reports, a settler was stabbed to death on Wednesday in village of Kafr Qasim; situated on the Green Line between the West Bank and Israel, allegedly at the hands of Palestinian workers.
The two workers who were identified as Yousif Khaled Kmail, and Mohammed Zeyyad Abu al-Rob, were detained late Thursday night as part of investigations into the killing of the settler. Both workers are residents of the village of Qabatiya, in the Jenin governorate in the northern West Bank.
Israeli forces, early Friday morning raided the family home of the two workers, and proceeded to photograph the houses before wreaking havoc and tampering with their contents.
Forces physically attacked the family members, subjected them to interrogations, and threatened to take punitive measures against them.
The military raid coincided with large-scale confrontations throughout and at the entrance of the village of Qabatiya.
Forces used rubber-coated steel bullets, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades against residents, causing dozens of suffocation cases among them.
Violent clashes also took place in the ‘Triangle of Martyrs’ area in Jenin. Several injuries were reported.
Some of the injured were transferred to Jenin hospital for medical treatment.
