JERUSALEM, August 8, 2017 (WAFA) – The Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem Tuesday bulldozed a Palestinian-owned house in Jabal al-Mukkaber and a shop in Beit Hanina, two East Jerusalem neighborhoods, under the pretext they were built without permit, according to local sources.

The house owner, Hamza Shalloudi, said the demolition took place without prior notice, pointing out that his lawyer succeeded in getting a court order to stop the demolition but only after most of the house was in ruins.

He said his family was forced out of the house and that only part of the furniture was salvaged before the demolition.

Meanwhile, municipality bulldozers demolished a shop in Beit Hanina neighborhood, said witnesses.

Israeli police cordoned off the area as the bulldozers tore down the shot, they said.
