RAMALLAH, May 10, 2017 (WAFA) – For the first time ever, Palestinian embassies abroad are going to have commercial attaches working on developing Palestinian economic ties with these countries, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
Foreign Minister Riyad Malki met at his Ramallah office with Minister of Economy Abeer Odeh and the new commercial attaches who will soon by joining embassies in the United States, Germany, Holland, Russia, the United Kingdom, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Malki expressed satisfaction with what he described as an important first-time achievement, accomplished through a program financed by the British Department for International Development (DFID) and the European Union.
He said the Foreign Ministry is ready to provide all assistance possible to the new staff to help them develop commercial ties between Palestine and these countries, expressing hope that there will be more commercial attaches in other countries in the future.
