Abu Rudeineh: Paris conference significant to two-state solution

RAMALLAH, January 12, 2017 (WAFA) – Presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said Thursday that the upcoming international peace conference in Paris is an important opportunity to emphasis the two-state solution and the illegality of settlements, particularly since the entire international community will be present at the conference, which comes after the Security Council resolution had stressed the two-state solution and declared settlements as illegitimate.

The Paris conference is set to convene on Sunday in the presence of 70 countries.

Abu Rudeineh said in response to statements Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in the presence of the Norwegian foreign minister, that “the international community is required to assert to the Israeli government that its rejection of United Nations resolutions would cause more unrest and instability in the region and the world.”

“We are ready for a just peace that leads to security and stability,” he said, adding that “the Palestinian, Arab and Islamic position considers Jerusalem as a red line that could not be tampered with by any party.”
