Prime Minister discusses coordination for upcoming international peace conference with French Presidential Adviser

RAMALLAH, June 4, 2025 (WAFA) – Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met today with Anne-Claire Legendre, Advisor to the French President for Middle East and North Africa Affairs, to discuss coordination of efforts aimed at ensuring the success of the upcoming international peace conference, scheduled to take place later this month in New York. The conference will be co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France.

The meeting also addressed the need to halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the urgent necessity of delivering humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting, which was held at the Prime Minister’s office in Ramallah and attended by Nicolas Kassianides, Consul General of France in Jerusalem, Mustafa stressed the importance of supporting the realization of a Palestinian state with unified institutions across the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

He also emphasized the urgent need to initiate the economic recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza immediately following the cessation of the Israeli aggression, in collaboration with all international partners.

The Prime Minister briefed his guest on the efforts of the Government’s Operations Room for Emergency Interventions in Gaza, which coordinates efforts with both international and local institutions. He called for enhanced coordination and joint action to support the Palestinian government, its programs, and reform initiatives, while also urging increased international pressure to release withheld Palestinian funds and to halt all illegal deductions imposed by Israel, the occupying power.

For her part, the Advisor to the French President reaffirmed France’s support for efforts to reach a ceasefire and end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. She reiterated her country’s commitment to the two-state solution and its support for the implementation of the Palestinian government’s development and institutional reform agenda.
