Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry voices concern over humanitarian situation in Gaza

COLOMBO, June 4, 2025 (WAFA) – The Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the current humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

In an official statement, the ministry reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter and relevant UN resolutions.

The statement further emphasized that Sri Lanka remains committed to supporting a negotiated settlement based on internationally agreed parameters, ensuring the establishment of two states living side by side along the 1967 borders, as an essential foundation for achieving long-term peace, security, and prosperity.
