Israeli Forces Detain 18 Palestinians, Seize Printing House Equipment in West Bank Raids

HEBRON, August 8, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday detained 18 Palestinians and seized the equipment of a printing house in overnight raids across the West Bank, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society.

Forces raided Beit Awwa town, southwest of Hebron, detaining four Palestinians after storming and ransacking their houses.

The detainees were identified as Mahmoud Masalma, 31, and his brother, Ahmad, ‘Ala Sweiti, 25, and Bilal Sweiti, 27.

This came as Israeli troops stopped Palestinian-registered vehicles at the Container military checkpoint, northeast of Bethlehem, detaining three Palestinians.

The detainees were identified as Riyadh Amr, 24, from the Hebron town of Dura, Muhammad Jamjum, 21, and Ahmad Turk, 20, both from Hebron city.

Forces also raided Halhul town, north of Hebron, ransacking Babel Printing House and seizing some equipment.

Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) reported in a press release that forces also detained Thaer Nassar and Muhammad al- Za‘aqiq from the southern West Bank district of Hebron.

Meanwhile, troops detained seven Palestinians during an overnight raid into Deir Abu Mashal village, northwest of Ramallah, in the central West Bank.

The detainees were identified as Hamza Abdul-Qader, 22, Sa‘ed Zahran, 20, Qusai Zahran, 19, Jamal Zahran, 19, Anwar Musallam, 20, Shehadeh Zahran, 20, and Abdullah Atta, 20.

In the northern West Bank, troops detained Malek Tammuni, 27, and Mahdi Ash-Sheikh from Tulkarem and Qalqiliya districts.
