RAMALLAH, June 8, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas today briefed Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman on the ongoing efforts to end the Israeli war and achieve peace, including the call for a permanent ceasefire, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid, and the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the Gaza Strip.

The President also discussed the upcoming international peace conference set to take place later this month in New York, with broad international participation and co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France.

He expressed his appreciation for the Sultan’s firm and principled support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.

The two leaders exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, with President Abbas extending his warm congratulations to the leadership and people of Oman, wishing them continued progress and prosperity.

Sultan Haitham, in turn, wished the Palestinian people freedom and independence, reaffirming Oman’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.
