RAMALLAH, May 29, 2016 (WAFA) – The Palestinian dailies focused on the meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers in the Arab League headquarters, which was attended by President Mahmoud Abbas.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida quoted Abbas as saying: “East Jerusalem is the capital of the Palestinian state, and we refuse temporary borders and a Jewish state”.
Al-Quds reported that the Arab Foreign Ministers confirmed their support to the French Peace Initiative at the end of the meeting.
Al-Ayyam reported that President Mahmoud Abbas refused any modification on the Arab Peace Initiative.
Meanwhile, the dailies focused on the funeral of a Palestinian who was recently fatally shot by Israeli forces in Hebron. The body of “Abdul Fattah Al-Shareef” had been reserved by the Israeli authorities for 61 days before it was handed over to his family for burial.
The three dailies reported that thousands of Arabs and Israelis took to the streets in Tel Aviv to protest against the government of Benjamin Netanyahu. These thousand demonstrated against ‘fascism and occupation’ upheld by Netanyahu’s government.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and Al-Ayyam quoted the Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Arabi as saying: “Israel is the last stronghold of fascism and racial discrimination.”
Al-Ayyam said that Israeli forces handed over new demolition orders Palestinian civilians in Jerusalem neighborhood of “Silwan”.
