WEST BANK, May 16, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces on Monday at least 11 Palestinian civilians across the West Bank districts and Jerusalem, mostly during overnight raids on vulnerable homes, according to local sources.
In Jerusalem, Israeli police detained a Palestinian youth following after he allegedly attempted to attack some of them at The Prophets street outside Damascus Gate in the city. The youth has not been identified yet.
Earlier, Israeli troops detained five Palestinians from Nablus district, another from Qalqilya, another from Jenin, another from Tulkarm, another from Bethlehem and another from Hebron.
Forces detained two Palestinian after breaking into and ransacking their family houses in the northern West Bank city of Nablus. They were identified as Hamza al-Amudi and Salahiddin Dweikat.
Forces also detained Mustafa Jamal after storming and ransacking his family house in Deir al-Hatab village, east of Nablus.
Two more Palestinians from the northern West Bank city were detained at a major Bethlehem military checkpoint.
Soldiers ordered Amin Jaber, 36, and Salah Hijazi, 23, to step out of a vehicle and detained them at al-Container checkpoint, northeast of Bethlehem.
To the west of Nablus, in Qalqilya city, forces detained Nael El-Hajj Hasan during a predawn raid into the city.
Meanwhile, forces detained Mahdi Ahmad, 18, during a predawn raid into Saida town, north of Tulkarem city.
Still in the northern West Bank, forces detained Abdullah Malalha, 20, an undergraduate student in the Arab American University, during a raid into Qabatiya town, south of Jenin, triggering clashes.
Forces fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters during clashes, causing several Palestinian locals to suffocate.
In the meantime, a Palestinian was detained while travelling along an bypass road near Betar Illit settlement, west of Bethlehem.
The detainee was identified as Muhammad Hamamra, 23, from Husan village, west of Bethlehem.
This came as forces stormed several houses during a raid into al-Asakreh village, east of Bethlehem.
Four owners were identified as Adel Asakreh, Karim Asakreh, Nasri Asakreh and Naser Asakreh. No detention was reported.
In the southern West Bank district of Hebron, forces detained a Palestinian mother while she was heading to visit her son detained in al-Naqab Israeli prison.
Palestine Prisoner’s Society identified the woman as Khadija al-Badawi, 48, from the Hebron refugee camp of al-Fawwar.
