Israel Detains Seven Palestinians in West Bank

HEBRON, May 8, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli army on Sunday detained at least seven Palestinians, mostly during predawn raids across the West Bank districts, according to security sources.

In Hebron district, Israeli troops detained two brothers, identified as Mutasem and Saqer Qawasmi, after raiding their family home in Hebron city.

Meanwhile in Bethlehem, Israeli forces stationed at a checkpoint on the northern entrance to Bethlehem detained Morad Hammad, 24, from Aida refugee camp, while he was on his way back home.

Army also broke into the village of Taqou, nearby, and handed a local Palestinian a summon notice to appear for interrogation at Gush Etzion military compound.

Israeli troops also reportedly detained Omar Hejaz, 21, Hesham Hejaz, 24, and Khaled Ibrahim, 32, in Ramallah area; and Mahmoud Rateb Abu Salem, 37, in the village of Attil, north of Tulkarm city.

Earlier yesterday, Israeli police detained a bus driver from Jerusalem along with 11 other Palestinian workers, under the pretext of attempting to enter Israel for work without Israeli permit.
