RAMALLAH, December 1, 2015
(WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused on Wednesday on the Israeli
Jerusalem District Court’s decision to suspend the conviction of the main
suspect in the murder of Palestinian teenager Mohammad Abu Khudair, who was
burnt to death by three extremist Israelis on July 2014.
They said the court convicted
the other two Israeli minors who were involved and partook in the murder of Abu
Khdeir. Al-Hayyat al-Jadida reported that the court awaits a physiological
evaluation for the main suspect before indicting him.
The dailies also highlighted
the funeral procession of Ayman Abbasi, 17, from Jerusalem, who was shot dead
by Israeli police during clashes on Sunday.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida and al-Ayyam
focused on remarks made by President Mahmoud Abbas at the Paris Climate Change
Conference, where he called on the entire international community to expand
international participation in the achievement of peace.
Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida
quoted Abbas as saying that Israel’s ongoing violations of international law
regarding preserving Palestine’s environment are a major challenge before
exerted efforts.
Al-Quds said Israeli human
rights group B’Tselem said that, “Israel is pursuing a policy designed to
reduce the number of Palestinians living in Area C, by making their lives there
intolerable. This government policy, which has been systematically implemented
for years, constitutes the forcible transfer of protected persons inside the
occupied territory – whether directly by demolishing their homes or indirectly
by creating unlivable conditions.”
Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida
reported on the European Union as saying that, it will continue to address
peace issues with Israel, despite the latter’s decision to suspend contact with
the EU; [an Israeli move that came following an EU decision to label Israeli
settlement products].
Al-Quds said an official
Palestinian report indicated that the year 2015 was the worst with regards to
the functioning of Rafah border crossing on Gaza-Egypt border.
