JERUSALEM, October 26, 2015
(WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight detained 16 Palestinians during predawn raids
into several West Bank districts, including Jerusalem, said security sources
and local sources.
In Jerusalem, Israeli police
detained five Palestinians, including two aged 17 and 18, from across the
Jerusalem area.
In Jerusalem’s neighborhood of
al-Sa‘diyya, police detained two Palestinian brothers after breaking into and
ransacking their houses. They were identified as Mu‘taz Jaber and, his brother,
Fathi.
Two more Palestinians were
detained as police stormed their houses in the Jerusalem neighborhood of
Ath-Thuri. The detainees were identified as Shadi Ghurab, 17, and Tamer
al-Qawasmi, 18.
Another Palestinian, who was
identified as Nader Naser, 20, was detained after police stormed and ransacked
his house in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras al-‘Amud.
Meanwhile in the northern West
Bank city of Nablus, forces detained four Palestinians as they stormed the
city.
The detainees were identified as
Sami Abu Baker, Fares Khalfeh, Mohammad Qutub and ‘Awni Ash-Sharif, who is a
university student.
Meanwhile in the southern West
Bank district of Hebron, forces detained three Palestinians as they broke into
and searched their houses in the city.
The detainees were identified as
Basem al-Fakhuri, 17, Mahmoud al-Qawasmi, 25, and his brother Ahmad, 24.
According to local
anti-settlement activist Mohammad ‘Awad, Israeli army forces detained another
Palestinian identified as Muhammad Za‘aqiq, 40, a former detainee and a father
of five children from Hebron’s town of Beit Ummar. Soldiers reportedly broke
into his house; smashed the front door and wreaked havoc inside, before
detaining him.
In the meantime in the northern
West Bank district of Tulkarem, forces raided ‘Attil town, northeast of the
city, where they detained ‘Ala’ ‘Attili, 23, who is a former detainee.
Forces also detained another
Palestinian identified as ‘Ala’ Ad-Din Hamdan, 24, a student enrolled in
Palestine Technical University Kadoori, after breaking into and searching his
house in Seida town, northeast of the city.
Also in the northern West Bank,
forces detained a Palestinian after storming and searching his family’s house
in the Jenin neighborhood of Jabal Abu Dhehair.
The detainee was identified as Mu‘taz Salfiti, 27.
