RAMALLAH, February 2, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces assault against a Palestinian march in protest of the ongoing Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip hit the front page headlines of the three Arabic Palestinian dailies.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported that Israeli soldiers opened fire on Palestinians protesting the ongoing Gaza blockade to the east of Gaza. Al-Ayyam printed a photo featuring two young men taking part in the march.

Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida reported that Thousands of Palestinians buried Ahmad al-Najjar, 19, who was shot dead by Israeli forces near the Nablus village of Burin.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida printed a photo featuring mourners carrying al-Najjar’s body and waiving Palestinian flags, Fatah flags and the flags of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Al-Quds and al-Hayat al-Jadida reported that stop work notices were handed by Israeli forces to Palestinians who are building in the Hebron town of Beit Ummar.

Al-Quds also said that several Palestinians were injured during clashes with Israeli forces in the town. Al-Hayat al-Jadida also reported that forces sealed the town’s two entrances and seized a tractor.

Al-Quds reported on Israeli forces Chief of Staff Benny Gantz warning that, “The internationalization of the Palestinian cause poses danger.”

Al-Hayat al-Jadida quoted Gantz: “Talks with the Palestinians are very important”, describing his comments as ‘an unfamiliar step’.

The paper also published that Serbian official sources confirmed that sacked Fatah figure Mohammad Dahlan together with his family were granted Serbian citizenship.

It also reported that Palestinians detainees in al-Ramlah Israeli prison called upon President Mahmoud Abbas to interfere to save their lives.

Al-Quds and al-Ayyam quoted member of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Executive Committee Saeb Erkat: “The PLO Central Council will discuss redefining the relation between the Palestinian Authority and Israel in its upcoming meeting.”

Regarding the situation in East Jerusalem, Al-Quds and al-Ayyam reported that Palestinian worshippers and Al-Aqsa Mosque guards resisted Israeli settlers’ attempt to perform Talmudic rituals in the Mosque.

Al-Ayyam said planning is underway for the licensing and construction of over 14,523 new settlement units in the West Bank.

Al-Ayyam and al-Hayat al-Jadida reported Premier Rami Hamdallah as affirming that a portion of the public servants’ salaries would be paid soon and calling on the servants to be patient.

They also reported that Abbas expressed his condolences for Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe over slain hostage.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said that former Israeli Military Intelligence Chief Amos Yadlin accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government of “burning Netanyahu’s cards” in the White House.
