GAZA, August 12, 2025 (WAFA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the Israel's deliberate killing of six journalists —Anas Al-Sharif, Mohammed Qureiqa, Ibrahim Daher, Moamen Aliwa, Mohammed Noufal, and Mohammed Al-Khalidi—following the targeting of a journalists' tent in Gaza City last Sunday.
The OIC affirmed that this crime constitutes a blatant attack on press freedom and a violation of international laws protecting media and journalistic work.
It confirmed that this crime is part of a systematic pattern of violations committed by Israel, the occupying power, against media outlets and their workers in the occupied Palestinian territories, which has resulted in the killing of 242 journalists since October 7, 2023, in an attempt to silence the truth and prevent it from reaching global public opinion.
The OIC held the occupation fully responsible for this crime, calling for an immediate investigation and accountability, and demanding that relevant international institutions take urgent measures to put an end to the deliberate targeting of journalists and to provide them with the necessary protection under international humanitarian law and relevant international conventions.
