Foreign Ministry welcomes the joint statement the FMs of 26 states on Gaza

RAMALLAH, August 12, 2025 (WAFA) – The Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry welcomed on Tuesday the joint statement by the Foreign Ministers of 26 states on the situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry considered the statement as indicative of an “international consensus” on Gaza, and called on all states and international organizations to translate this consensus into practical and binding steps that would compel Israel, the occupying power, to halt its crimes against Palestinian civilians.

It also urged them to step up official international visits to the Strip accompanied by media representatives and journalists.

The ministry stressed the great importance of activating the role of the United Nations and the UN Security Council to oversee the implementation of relevant UN resolutions, and to adopt the New York Call, which suggests a wave of future recognitions of an independent Palestinian state could take place in the coming months, and implement its outcomes.
