OTTAWA, August 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Canada has condemned the killing of al-Jazeera journalists, including Anas al-Sharif, in an airstrike that targeted media crews' tents in Gaza.
It said in a post on X that "Canada condemns the killing of AlJazeera journalists in #Gaza."
It added that "journalists are civilians — targeting them is unacceptable."
"We call for full accountability and for the protection of media everywhere," it explained.
On August 10, the occupation forces directly targeted a journalists' tent in front of Al-Shifa Hospital west of Gaza City, killing seven citizens, including fellow journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qreiqea, correspondents for Al Jazeera, photojournalists Ibrahim Daher and Mohammed Nofal, and the crew's driver. Journalist Mohammed Sobh was also injured.
