Newspaper Review: Israel’s Seizure of 2,000 Acres in Hebron Focus of Dailies

RAMALLAH, September 7, 2014 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies highlighted in their Sunday issue the Israeli seizure of 2,000 acres of Palestinian land near Hebron.

Following are the main headlines:

-[Israel] starts implementing a military order to seize 2,000 acres in Yatta [near Hebron] for military purposes.

-A [Palestinian] youth from Rafah was ‘martyred’ of his wounds [which he had sustained] during the aggression on the Gaza Strip.

-Crossing Beit Hanoun (Erez) border crossing between Gaza and the West Bank is more like a 'science fiction' journey.

-President Abbas briefs Arab foreign ministers on the [latest] developments of the Palestinian issue.

-30% of Israelis are seriously examining departure [from Israel].

Al-Ayyam:

- The occupation authorities confirm seizing 2,000 acres of agricultural land to the southeast of Hebron.

-President [Abbas] meets with his Egyptian counterpart and participates in the Arab foreign ministers meeting.

-50 people were killed in airstrikes on an Islamic State stronghold in Syria.
