RAMALLAH, October 5, 2026 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas congratulated President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on the occasion of Armed Forces Day and the 53rd anniversary of the glorious October 6 victories.

In his telegram, President Abbas extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to President Al-Sisi, as well as to the government and people of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on this enduring national occasion, which embodied the will of the Egyptian people and its armed forces to defend the homeland and restore land and dignity.

President Mahmoud Abbas wished sisterly Egypt, its leadership, government, and people continued security, stability, progress, and prosperity, as well as continued progress in its path of nation-building and development under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.

President Abbas valued Egypt’s steadfast positions in support of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to freedom and independence and to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The President affirmed his appreciation for Egypt’s historic and responsible role in supporting the Palestinian people, bringing an end to the aggression against the Gaza Strip, delivering humanitarian aid, and rejecting the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land.

President Abbas affirmed his pride in the depth of the fraternal and historic relations between Palestine and Egypt and their two brotherly peoples, as well as in the continued coordination and cooperation between the two countries and Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace and consolidate security and stability in the region.

The President expressed his confidence that Egypt would continue its active role in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause, toward ending the occupation and realizing the independent Palestinian state on its land, in a manner that contributes to achieving security, peace, and stability for all the peoples of the region.

At the conclusion of his message, President Mahmoud Abbas renewed his congratulations to President Al-Sisi and the brotherly Egyptian people on this glorious national anniversary, wishing Egypt continued elevation, progress, and prosperity.
