RAMALLAH, August 20, 2026 (WAFA) — President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday awarded Egyptian Ambassador to Palestine Ehab Suleiman the Star of Jerusalem, one of the honors of the Order of Jerusalem.

President Abbas presented the award during a meeting with Suleiman on the occasion of the end of his tenure as Egypt's ambassador to Palestine.

The President honored Suleiman in recognition of his role in strengthening the fraternal ties and close cooperation between Palestine and Egypt, as well as his efforts to support the Palestinian people and their just cause for freedom and independence.

He praised the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples, as well as the ambassador's efforts during his tenure to advance cooperation and joint work. He wished Suleiman success in his future duties.

Meantime, the Egyptian ambassador expressed his gratitude and appreciation to President Abbas for the honor, reaffirming Egypt's steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.
