Israeli authorities demolish residential building in Kafr Qasim in the 1948 territories

KAFR QASIM, Thursday, August 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities demolished a residential building in the Arab city of Kafr Qasim in the 1948 territories on Thursday under the pretext of unlicensed construction, in what comes amid the continued policy of demolishing homes in Arab towns against the backdrop of an escalating planning and housing crisis.

The demolition comes as Arab communities continue to face a longstanding planning and housing crisis resulting from Israeli restrictions on the expansion of municipal boundaries and the absence of adequate master plans, forcing many residents to build homes to meet their housing needs.

Home demolitions in Arab communities have escalated in recent months, prompting growing calls to end the demolition policy and adopt fair planning solutions that guarantee the housing and urban development rights of Arab citizens.
