RAMALLAH, July 30, 2026 (WAFA) — President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday awarded French Consul General in Jerusalem Nicolas Kassianides the Jerusalem Star Medal of the Order of Jerusalem.
The award was presented during a meeting at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah marking the conclusion of Kassianides' diplomatic mission.
President Abbas honored the French consul general in recognition of his distinguished role in strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between the State of Palestine and the French Republic, and in appreciation of his efforts in supporting the Palestinian people and their pursuit of freedom and independence.
Kassianides expressed his sincere gratitude to President Abbas for the high-level honor, saying he was proud to have worked to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
The ceremony was attended by the president's diplomatic affairs adviser, Majdi Al-Khalidi.
