RAMALLAH, May 21, 2026 (WAFA) – Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al-Sheikh, received a phone call Thursday from Egypt's Intelligence Minister Hassan Rashad, who congratulated him on the successful conclusion of the Eighth General Conference of Fatah.

During the call, Rashad expressed hope that the conference's outcomes would contribute to strengthening Palestinian internal unity, consolidating cohesion within Fatah, and advancing broader Palestinian national unity, given the movement's prominent position within the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Rashad also reaffirmed Egypt's longstanding support for the Palestinian people and their struggle to achieve their national rights and establish an independent Palestinian state.
