GAZA, May 18, 2026 (WAFA) – Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced today that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Strip has risen to 72,769 while 172,704 others wounded since the start of the offensive on October 7, 2023.
The sources reported that Gaza Strip hospitals received six bodies and 40 wounded in the past 24 hours.
They indicated that the total number of slain people since the ceasefire on October 11 has risen to 877, and the total number of wounded to 2,602, while 776 bodies have been recovered.
The same sources explained that a number of victims remain under the rubble and in the streets, as ambulance and rescue teams have been unable to reach them so far.
