RAMALLAH, March 29, 2026 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas extended condolences to President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the passing of former Algerian President and veteran Liamine Zeroual.
In his telegram, President Abbas expressed profound sorrow and heartfelt sympathy for this significant loss, reaffirming the solidarity of the State of Palestine and its people with Algeria, its President, government, and citizens in mourning the passing of a national and pan-Arab figure, who left an enduring legacy in the military, diplomatic, and leadership fields.
He commended the deceased’s merits and steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their just cause until the final days of his life, noting that his memory will remain vivid in the consciousness of the Palestinian people in recognition of his role and contributions.
President Abbas extended sincere condolences to President Tebboune, and through him to the family of the deceased, the Algerian government, and the Algerian people.
