Palestinian Presidency warns Gaza ongoing war, colonist violence undermine regional stability

RAMALLAH, March 30, 2026 (WAFA) – Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the official spokesperson for President Mahmoud Abbas, warned on Saturday that the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip and escalating colonist attacks in the West Bank threaten to render all regional conflicts futile.

He pointed out that since the announcement of the ceasefire in Gaza, Israeli occupation forces have killed 694 Palestinians, while failing to allowed adequate humanitarian aid, exacerbating the humanitarian catastrophe faced by the Palestinian people, in flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and US President Donald Trump's plan.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh stated that the West Bank is witnessing a dangerous escalation, with ongoing colonist attacks carried out under the protection of the occupation army, amid heightened regional tension.

The presidential spokesperson emphasized that such irresponsible actions would not bring security or stability, affirming that all wars waged in the region will remain unresolved as long as the Palestinian issue is not addressed in accordance with international law, UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Nabil Abu Rudeineh called on the international community and the US administration to compel the occupying power to halt its war against the Palestinian people, to uphold the ceasefire and allow the entry of aid, and to stop colonist attacks, if they are truly serious about achieving security and stability in the region and sparing it further pointless wars.
