RAMALLAH, March 21, 2026 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas offered his condolences to the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavlashvili, mourning the death of Patriarch Ilia II, the spiritual leader of the Georgian Orthodox Church.
In his Telegram, the President expressed deep sorrow over the passing of His Holiness Ilia II, Patriarch of All Georgia, the spiritual leader of the Georgian Orthodox Church, noting his life was full of dedication in service to his country, faith, and people.
The President extended his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to the Georgian President and the friendly Georgian people, wishing Georgia and its people lasting security, stability, and prosperity.
President Abbas also sent a condolence message to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, on the passing of the late patriarch.
