Khouri meets with Russian ambassador to Palestine to reaffirm support for rights of Palestinian people

 

RAMALLAH, November 24, 2025 (WAFA) - Ramzi Khouri, Member of the PLO Executive Committee and Head of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, met with the Russian Ambassador to Palestine, Gocha Buachidze. The meeting was attended by Viktor Nikita Kozhemyak, Political Officer at the Russian Representative Office in Palestine; Samir Hazboun, Member of the Presidential Committee; and Raed Hanania, Director of Public Relations and Media.

During the meeting, Khouri conveyed the greetings and holiday well-wishes of President Mahmoud Abbas, and emphasized the deep historical ties between the Palestinian and Russian peoples.

He expressed the Palestinian leadership’s appreciation for Russia’s longstanding support for the rights of the Palestinian people, and hoped that the blessed holiday season would bring peace and goodwill to all nations.

The discussion also touched on ongoing preparations for the Christmas celebrations, ensuring that the festivities reflect the spiritual significance and standing of Palestine.

Ambassador Buachidze reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the region, based on the two-state solution and guaranteeing the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
