Two Palestinians and foreign activist injured in attack by Israeli colonists on olive pickers near Ramallah

RAMALLAH, October 19, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian olive pickers in the town of Turmus Ayya, northeast of Ramallah, today, injuring two farmers and an international supporter, and setting fire to vehicles, while the army assisted in enforcing restrictions on access to farmlands.

Palestinian security sources reported that colonists assaulted the olive pickers in the Wadi Ammar area, causing bruises and varying injuries, and forced them to leave their lands. The colonists also set fire to two vehicles belonging to local residents, while Israeli forces accompanying the attackers fired shots toward the farmers and prevented them from completing the harvest.

Earlier in the day, the army had set up a temporary checkpoint at the town's main entrance, blocking traffic and searching several vehicles.

Meantime, Israeli colonists attacked the Bedouin community of Khallat al-Sedra east of the town of Makhmas, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, blocking the main road and destroying water networks.

Local sources reported that the colonists targeted the community, cutting off access and damaging essential infrastructure, adding to the ongoing pressures faced by Palestinian Bedouin communities in the area.

Palestinian lands across the West Bank frequently face such attacks during the annual olive harvest, with colonists and Israeli forces blocking access, assaulting farmers, and causing financial losses.

Since October 7, 2023, colonists have carried out 7,154 attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank, resulting in 33 fatalities and widespread destruction of property.
