CAIRO, August 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, condemned the Israeli occupation's escalation of the genocidal war and horrific massacres against Palestinian civilians, as well as the systematic escalation in targeting journalists, medical and relief personnel in the Gaza Strip, and the systematic starvation crime that has claimed the lives of a large number of defenseless civilians.
Al-Yamahi warned that its continuation will lead to further tensions and threaten international peace and security.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Al-Yamahi said that these massacres committed by the occupation forces at the Nasser Medical Complex, which were broadcast live to the entire world, are "war crimes" and "full-fledged crimes against humanity."
He pointed out that the occupation forces are not satisfied with brutal bombing, but are implementing policies of immediate annihilation through massacres and slow annihilation, by preventing food, medicine, and humanitarian aid, and spreading famine, in one of the most heinous crimes of the modern era.
He denounced the silence of the international community.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament also called on the United Nations, the European Union, the International Federation of Journalists, and the International Committee of the Red Cross to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and pressure the occupation to de-escalate, end the war, implement a ceasefire, and enter into a truce agreement. He emphasized that the continued silence is "a stain on humanity."
Al-Yamahi called for the immediate suspension of the occupation by all international organizations and federations, considering it a violation of the principles of the international system and a disregard for all international laws.
"This requires the imposition of comprehensive and urgent economic, political, and military sanctions on the occupation's leaders," he noted.
He also called for urgent action by the International Criminal Court regarding these crimes, which fall within the scope of genocide, and for those responsible to be prosecuted as war criminals.
