TULKAREM, February 24, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation continues on Monday its onslaught on Tulkarem city and its refugee camp for the 29th consecutive day, and on Nur Shams camp for the 16th consecutive day, amid escalated military reinforcements, ongoing home raids and the targeting of infrastructure.

WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli forces deployed additional military reinforcements to Tulkarem city and its refugee camps, stationing infantry units in the streets and neighborhoods. The forces continued raiding homes, searching and destroying their contents and even targeting vacant homes, which were converted into military outposts.

The occupation forces are maintaining a comprehensive siege on the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, preventing entry and exit, while obstructing the efforts of relief teams attempting to deliver essential supplies, including food, water, medicine and infant formula to residents trapped inside the camps. Daily appeals are being made to ensure the delivery of these crucial necessities.

Eyewitnesses informed WAFA that families who remain in their homes in the Tulkarem camp are dispersed across several neighborhoods. The majority of these residents are women, the elderly and children, who are enduring extremely harsh conditions due to the ongoing siege, widespread destruction and the disruption of electricity, water and communication services. Their movement is severely restricted, exacerbating their suffering and putting their lives in increasing danger.

In Nur Shams camp, the occupation forces continue to spread through several neighborhoods, conducting widespread home raids, destroying their contents and subjecting residents to relentless harassment, interrogation and intimidation.

Furthermore, Israeli military forces have increased their presence along Nablus Road, which links the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, deploying heavy machinery and bulldozers. The forces are surrounding residential buildings, transforming them into military outposts, disrupting traffic, subjecting vehicles to searches and interrogating and harassing passengers.

In Tulkarem city, Israeli vehicles obstructed citizens’ movement and targeted their vehicles, while raiding businesses in the southern neighborhood. Shop owners were assaulted and detained for several hours before being released.

Israeli forces also stormed the Dhannaba area to the east of the city, patrolling its neighborhoods and conducting searches at several intersections, however, no detentions were reported.

The occupation continues to block the Jubara checkpoint at the southern entrance of Tulkarem for the 17th consecutive day, isolating the city from the surrounding villages and other parts of the West Bank.
