JENIN, February 19, 2025 (WAFA) – The aggression of the Israeli occupation army on the city of Jenin and its camp has entered its first month today, which has so far resulted in the killing of 26 Palestinians and left dozens of injuries, and caused the displacement of thousands of civilians, amidst unprecedented destruction, demolition and burning of homes.
With the continuation of the Israeli aggression on Jenin camp, the extent of the massive destruction of homes, properties and shops of citizens in the neighborhoods and streets of the city and camp is revealed day after day, while the occupation forces continue to send military reinforcements accompanied by bulldozers and fuel tankers to the entrances and surroundings of the camp.
Yesterday, the occupation army brought in large water tanks, in addition to small rooms for occupation soldiers, as the Israeli bulldozers continue to destroy, demolish and open streets in several neighborhoods of Jenin camp, while drones continue to fly at low altitudes in the sky of the city and camp.
The Israeli occupation forces also detained two children and two young men from the city of Jenin yesterday.
Local sources said that the occupation forces detained two children in the vicinity of Yahya Ayyash roundabout, while two young men were detained earlier from the city of Jenin.
Jenin Mayor Muhammad Jarrar said in a statement yesterday that the occupation forces adopted a pattern of random destruction in Jenin camp and its surroundings and did not leave any infrastructure foundations, and burned and demolished homes in order to make the camp uninhabitable.
He added that after nearly a month of ongoing aggression, Jenin camp has become mostly empty of residents, as the occupation is trying to create a new environment for the residents of Jenin camp to live away from it and thus not return to their homes.
According to the Jenin camp media committee, the occupation left nearly 3,000 families in Jenin camp without shelter, after destroying their homes and property, and burning a number of other homes.
The Israeli occupation forces closed the entire entrances to Jenin camp with earth mounds, while the occupation soldiers stationed at the entrance to the camp fired live bullets at the citizens, and fired flares in Jabal Abu Dhahir area and the new camp.
In Jabriyat neighborhood in the city, which is close to the camp, drones equipped with loudspeakers flew, demanding that residents evacuate their homes, threatening to shoot if they did not evacuate.
The occupation forces raided the homes of three families in the village of Taybeh, west of Jenin, and forced them to evacuate and turned them into military outposts.
A 16-year-old child was also injured by a gas bomb in the hand after the occupation forces stormed the town of Meithalun, south of Jenin, and detained a youth from there.
Another young man was also injured during the storming after the occupation soldiers assaulted him.
So far, the unprecedented aggression on the city and camp of Jenin has left 26 slain people in the Jenin governorate as well as dozens of injuries.
