JENIN, February 7, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces have persisted in their assault on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp for the 18th consecutive day, leaving behind a trail of devastation that includes 25 fatalities, dozens of injuries, and numerous detentions.
The assault has been marked by the destruction of homes, widespread damage to property, and severe impacts on the area's infrastructure.
According to WAFA correspondent, massive explosions echoed throughout the Jenin refugee camp last night, the result of demolitions carried out by Israeli forces targeting civilian homes. At the same time, Israeli military reinforcements were deployed to the camp and its surrounding areas.
Estimates indicate that nearly 90% of the camp's population has been forcibly displaced, with many seeking refuge in 39 villages and towns across the Jenin governorate. This large-scale displacement has left the region in a state of dire humanitarian need.
Amid the ongoing attacks, Israeli forces continue to besiege the Jenin Governmental Hospital, having bulldozed the main entrance and the primary road leading to it. The hospital is now facing a severe shortage of potable water.
In response, the Jenin Municipality, in cooperation with civil defense teams, is working to deliver water to the hospital using small agricultural tractors. This comes after the Israeli occupation blocked water tankers from entering, further exacerbating the hospital's struggles.
Power outages have also persisted in several neighborhoods in Jenin refugee camp and its vicinity, further compounding the difficulties faced by residents.
The destruction of essential infrastructure has left water and electricity supplies cut off, as Israeli forces prevent repair teams from the Jenin Municipality from accessing and restoring vital services.
