Israeli military offensive on Tulkarm continues for 12th consecutive day

TULKARM, February 7, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation military continues its offensive on the city of Tulkarm for the 12th consecutive day, deploying reinforcements and seizing residential buildings, and forcing many residents to leave while turning their homes into military outposts.

According to WAFA correspondent, Israeli forces have sent additional troops and armored vehicles into Tulkarm and its refugee camp. Meantime, the military continues to impose a siege on Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital while occupying the adjacent Al-Adawiya commercial complex, converting it into a military base and surveillance post.

Overnight, Israeli forces raided homes in the eastern neighborhood of the city, conducting searches, verifying residents' identities, and subjecting them to field interrogations. Soldiers also destroyed surveillance cameras installed in the city streets.

The occupying army has also seized Al-Burhan residential building in the eastern neighborhood, near the southwestern entrance to Tulkarm refugee camp. Residents were forcibly evicted at gunpoint, and the building was turned into a military post.

Israeli troops also stormed the Iktaba suburb, east of Tulkarm, raiding and searching the home of the Al-Awfi family while subjecting its occupants to field interrogations.

Meanwhile, the Israeli siege of Tulkarm refugee camp continues, with soldiers patrolling its nearly deserted alleys and streets, seizing homes and turning them into military outposts. Many of these homes have been destroyed, partially or entirely, through demolitions, explosions, or fires.

The Israeli army also continues to forcibly remove entire families from the camp under military threat. Palestinian Red Crescent teams are working daily to evacuate elderly residents and patients, relocating them to shelters across the city and nearby villages.

Tulkarm Governor Abdullah Kamil stated last night that 85% of the camp’s residents have been forcibly displaced by Israeli forces amid the ongoing military aggression.

Statistics indicate that approximately 10,450 people—about 2,105 families—have been forcibly displaced from Tulkarm Refugee Camp, leaving only around 400 families still inside.
