House catches fire due to Israeli army teargas canisters in Hebron

HEBRON, January 31, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian’s house Friday caught fire due to Israeli army teargas canisters in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that Israeli occupation forces fired barrages of teargas canisters at houses in the vicinity of the ash-Shuhada Mosque in the southern part of the city, setting a house of the Burqan family on fire and causing several Palestinians to suffer from teargas inhalation.

He added that municipal firefighters rushed to the scene to extinguish the fire.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without a search warrant whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
