Foreign ministry vehemently condemns calls made by Israeli officials to impose sovereignty over occupied West Bank

RAMALLAH, November 11, 2024 (WAFA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates vehemently condemned the remarks made by several Israeli officials and their calls to impose what they referred to as "sovereignty" over the occupied West Bank.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry slammed these remarks as a prime example of colonial racism, an extension of the ongoing displacement and genocidal war waged against the Palestinian people and a blatant disregard for international legitimacy resolutions and the global consensus on the two-state solution.

The Ministry stressed that the international community's failure to enforce United Nations resolutions concerning the Palestinian issue, including those demanding an end to the genocide, is fueling the Israeli ruling right-wing to continue its crimes and violations, which aim to liquidate the Palestinian cause and undermine the prospects for a two-state solution.

The Ministry urged for a strong international response to these actions, through a UN Security Council resolution that grants the State of Palestine full membership in the United Nations, halts the genocide and establishes binding measures to implement the General Assembly's decision on the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice.

The Ministry also stressed that imposing effective international sanctions on the occupation, its leaders, colonial figures, and terrorist groups is vital in stopping Israel's violations of the Palestinian people's rights.
